Homemade Skinnier Banana Ice Cream

Hi guys! We are finally having a nice summer here in Germany. Winter was just too long! And what’s better than some cool ice cream…well homemade ice cream is even better! You know what you get when you just make it yourself and it’s not that difficult. I have ben using my ice gadet but you can also make tasty ice cream or so called parfait without using a machine.

I have an attachment for my kitchaid that you pop in the freezer for at least 15 hours and then you are set up for making your own flavors in 10 min flat!

Yesterday it was time for some banana ice cream. I decided to go for a “skinnier” version of a traditional recipe using less cream and more yogurt and milk. If you are using a maschine you still need some fat to make the recipe work. But I can honestly say that this ice cream is good for you! You get extra calcium, magnesium, protein, healthy milk fats and banana power and most importantly no added sugars! Here we go!

1 cup heavy cream
1.5 cups low fat yogurt
1.5 cups low fat milk
3 ripe bananas (2 purreed and 1 as garnish)
use stevia or a sweetener of your choice
you can also add a little chocolate syrup

I combined all ingredients in a mixing bowl (except the one banana) and mixed them together. You need to chill the mix for a good hour before pouring it into the ice cream maker.

Cut the last banana in small slices using them to garnish your ice cream creation. It takes about 10 minutes in the Kitchenaid Ice Cream Maker to freeze the mix. YUM!
