I just tried this pretty easy and super safe way of making caramel spread. Maybe you have heard about doing it this way already or you may be as surprised as I was.
all you need is
a can of sweetened condensed milk
a high pot with lid (should be a little higher than the can)
stove
water
Remove the paper from your can. Place the can in the pot and add water to the pot till the can is covered. Place the lid on the pot and bring the water to a boil. Let the can sit in the simmering water for about 90 -120 min.
Take the can out and let it cool off. Open the can and you have a wonderful caramel spread!
I added some fleur de sel to mine and also used it in my First ever Pumpkin Pie recipe.
